About

Hi! I’m Julia

I live in Southern California and I LOVE to eat. I’ve been professionally eating since I was about 5 years old and was already eating sushi. Just kidding.

I had always loved food, but it wasn’t until I saw Julie and Julia that I realized how badly I wanted to learn to cook. Like really learn to cook. The minute that boeuf bourginon came on the screen, I had this intense desire to make it. From that point on it was history. Now I cook almost every day, and I love every minute of it.

This blog was created to expand my relationship with food. I mean yes, duh, it’s here for me to share my creations, but also to push me to learn and expand my boundaries when it comes to cooking. There’s just something about home cooked food that makes me feel whole, so I’m trying to share that love with all of you. I’m hoping this helps you expand your relationship with food and find love in cooking.

Outside of cooking, I do have a life I promise. A few other things you may not know about me: I work full time in marketing, I used to be a fashion design major (and wear high heels EVERY DAY… whaaaat), and I have the world’s cutest cat (Toaster) and dog (Raley). I’ve been happily married since 2016, and my husband totally digs this food blog because it means I make more food for him all the time. Lucky duck. Must be nice.

My sister, Emily, is also a huge part of what makes this blog. I make the recipes, cook, and style the shoots – she also styles and takes/edits the photos. Any photography inquiries, please use the contact form.
