A few weeks ago, my sister and I attended the lavender festival in Cherry Valley, CA. It was basically an amazing-smelling food and drink festival all based around Lavender. Totally my jam. I tasted lavender honey, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, iced tea, ice cream, cake, cookies, you name it. All lavender flavored. Pretty sure I died and went to heaven. I’m totally in love with lavender everything.
I use lavender essential oil to diffuse in my house, I spray lavender on my bed before I go to sleep, I eat ANYTHING that has lavender in the description. I’m basically a crazy lavender lady (in addition to being a *slightly* crazy cat lady). One thing I am guaranteed to order if I see it on the menu is lavender lemonade. It’s one of my favorite drinks in the entire world. So light. So fresh (anyone else picturing Kristen Wiig in Bridesmaids? Oh that’s freshhhh).
While I was at the festival, I made sure to pick up some lavender syrup to whip up a batch of lavender lemonade for the weekend. There’s something about that floral citrusy flavor that embodies everything I love about summer. And if you serve it at a party, people are always impressed. Even though it only takes a few minutes to make.
I used lavender syrup from the festival to make this lemonade, but you can quickly and easily make your own lavender simple syrup as well if this is not readily available or easy to find. A few lavender seeds cooked down with the sugar and water is all it takes! After that it’s as simple as mixing the syrup with lemon juice and water. An easy summer drink that everyone will adore.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup lemon juice
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup lavender syrup (homemade or store bought)
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients into a pitcher and stir well. Serve!
