My Maple Bourbon Hot Apple Cider is lightly sweet, warming and perfect for this amazing fall weather! Just top with some cinnamon and you’ve got the PERFECT fall cocktail.
My favorite thing about fall (other than sweata weatha) is cozying up on the couch with a hot drink and the fire going. Now, that’s a rarity in Southern California, seeing as it’s 95 degrees, Santa Ana winds are blowing and I’m sweating. We don’t get a whole lot of “fall” here, but when we do I’m fully prepped with 400 sweater choices, 2000 pea coat options and boots that I can wear probably 10 days total out of the year.
When I’m finally able to wear sweaters, I pile up the blankets and eat soup. Then, I also accompany that with my Maple Bourbon Hot Apple Cider. I love this drink because it’s warming and delicious, and actually has very little added sugar. I get the Trader Joe’s Apple Cider, 100% maple syrup, a good bourbon and add some cinnamon and nutmeg. Too good.
When making this, be sure to use real apple cider rather than apple cider with additives and sugar, they’re going to be too sweet and you won’t get the same taste as you would with all-natural cider and maple syrup. Hopefully you’re not finding that too expensive in your area. I’m finding that when I get real cider and real maple, the cider is about the same price and I use a lot less real maple than I do the less natural maple syrups. Here are some great maple syrup options. If you’re looking for other great fall dishes, try out my Apple Cider Sangria, or my Indian Butter Chicken. This is delicious, all-natural, and perfect for the weather! Oh, and did I mention it only takes a few minutes to make? Yes please.
