Vegan Chai Hot Chocolate

A decadent and delicious chai hot chocolate that's completely vegan!

  • 1 1/2 cups oat milk or non-dairy milk of choice
  • 1 1/2 oz vegan dark chocolate
  • 1 chai tea bag
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/8 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Vegan Marshmallows optional
  • Coconut Whipped Cream optional


  • Break up the chocolate into smaller pieces (if not using chocolate chips) by hand or with a knife.
  • In a sauce pan, heat the milk over low heat and add the tea bag. Stir a few times while milk is simmering pressing on the tea bag to infuse the flavor into the milk. Then add in the chocolate and stir to melt the chocolate completely. Remove the tea bag and pour in maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Stir to incorporate and serve topped with marshmallows and coconut whipped cream!
